The Fish and Chips from Mill Lane were great!

The Socialist songs by Ken and Sue were a delight.

Dave Sweet was his best philosophical self!

This is George’s summary of Dave’s discussion paper – no idea if Dave agrees with it!

What does Sovereignty mean?

To the Brexiteer in Lincolnshire who says he voted Brexit it’s not about having control but having the choice.  He doesn’t necessarily want to live in the EU but he doesn’t want people in the EU to live in Lincolnshire.    When asked if he would like to live in the EU he says he chooses not to.

To the Remainer from Lincolnshire, he voted to Remain, not because he wants to live in the EU but simply because he wants to have the choice.   Even if he doesn’t want to.

So is Sovereignty about control or about choice?  It depends who you ask.  It’s a mystery, wrapped up in a dilemma posing as a conundrum.   Take your pick.

James – who voted for Brexit – argued his case, and after a few more points made by others Trevor finished by proposing a whole new theory:

All borders everywhere should be open – no visas, no passports – anybody can walk anywhere in the world.

I wonder how Theresa May would negotiate that!

A great evening!
