Clare Wildey - the voice of experience and the best choice for Beverley Rural ward

On 25 August 2022, the voters in Beverley Rural ward have an important choice to make.

The need to decide who is going to represent them on East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

They could go with the Conservatives, who have failed on a national level and done nothing for them locally. They could go with the Liberal Democrats, who have failed on Beverley Town Council and had no meaningful effect on East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

However, the best choice is Labour – a vote for real change. The party’s town and parish councillors are doing incredibly well at a local level and recent polling shows increasing support at a national level. Now is the time to get a Labour presence back on East Riding of Yorkshire Council and change things or the better.

Our candidate – Clare Wildey

Clare is someone with both knowledge and experience and an ideal choice for the people of Beverley Rural ward. Firstly, she is local. Secondly, she has a background of working in the voluntary sector – helping those in need. During this cost of living crisis, that sort of experience is highly valuable. In addition, Clare is involved with the business sector (currently working for the Hull Chamber of Commerce).

Something that’s also incredibly important is that Clare firmly believe in the Nolan Principles that govern public life:

  • Selflessness
  • Integrity
  • Objectivity
  • Accountability
  • Openness
  • Honesty
  • Leadership

We’ve all seen the news. It’s clear that the Conservatives don’t believe in these principles and can no longer be trusted with public office.

What will Clare do?

It’s one thing to criticise the status quo. However, you also need your own ideas.

Clare will:

  • Press the leadership of East Riding of Yorkshire Council to do much more to support those in need during the cost of living crisis
  • Ensure that continued support and protection is given to the local bus services in Beverley. The financial support that has been given is at risk of being withdrawn, which is a real concern for local people
  • Press the East Riding of Yorkshire Council leadership to communicate with OFWAT and the Environment Agency and stop sewage being dumped in our local water supply
  • Work towards getting a more visible police presence in the area, so that you feel more safe and secure

It’s clear that if you want real, meaningful change in Beverley, you need to vote for Clare Wildey.
