Over 90 Beverley and Holderness Labour members plus members of the CWU, Unison and GMB and other friends had an excellent night at Armstrongs in Beverley to celebrate the birth of Robbie Burns (1759-1796) the great Scottish poet and socialist.

Apart from Charlie Sanders piping in the obligatory haggis, we listened to Alex Sobel the very new socialist MP who won the Leeds North West constituency with a massive 14% swing from the Lib Dems.

Later we enjoyed the music of Sue and Ken Terry, and till late, Dave Sweet’s band ‘Loose Covers’.

We were delighted with the huge sum of around £1,400 to be used in our campaigning activities.

Many thanks to all who helped in any way – and make sure you book a ticket for 2020!
