Dave Harris
Treasurer for Beverley Branch

I was born and raised in Derby to parents in unskilled work in the textile industry. I attended a local secondary modern school after which I started an Engineering apprenticeship getting a broad hands-on trade experience whilst attending part time college.
Through college and work I realised my potential and left my employer to go to Loughborough University to get a specialised Masters Degree.
After University I joined an Oil Company as a Mechanical Engineer.
Over a 35 year career I was employed by three major oil companies in a wide range of roles including Head of Engineering in a Refinery, Head of Maintenance for BP based in Dimlington/Easington which is what brought me to Beverley, and as an Offshore Installation Manager in the North Sea after which I left employment and spent 10 years as an independent management consultant.
I’m married and have three daughters and three grandchildren.
My wife and I travel in our camper van, visit our daughter in Sydney and enjoy hiking and cycling. I play golf and tennis and support Derby County.
