BBC Any Questions is a topical current affairs panel show on Radio 4 that was first broadcast in 1948. It has seen a number of famous faces on the panel over the years to discuss a variety of issues. It could be considered the radio version of Question Time and is always worth a listen.
It tours the country throughout the year but, like many things, it has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, on Friday it visited the Bridlington Spa, which was only the second time that it’s been on the road since the first lockdown.
The panellists on this episode were:
- David Davis (the MP for Haltemprice & Howden)
- Dame Angela Eagle (the MP for Wallasey, who was born in Bridlington)
- Timandra Harkness
- Jack Blanchard
Some members of this CLP (Cllr Chloe Hopkins and David Kirlew-Morris) were invited to be in the audience and, like everyone else in attendance, had the opportunity to ask the panel questions.
Cllr Hopkins was one of the lucky few to be selected and asked an important question about local rail connections and why there seems to be so much more of a focus on e.g. connecting places to London.
